Showing that We Care!

During this holiday season, legendary UCLA basketball coach John Wooden’s words come to mind: “Seek opportunities to show you care. The smallest gestures often make the biggest difference.” Since our founding in 2002, Highlands Consulting has embraced this philosophy and made it an essential part of our organizational culture. We have supported numerous charities through financial assistance and direct volunteering – charities that make a positive and lasting difference in the communities where we live and work.

December is one of the best times of the year for our firm! During one of our weekly team meetings, each employee selects a charity that is meaningful to them and makes a contribution on behalf of the firm. Oftentimes, there is a personal connection to the charity selected. This opportunity to give not only supports the various charities, but also provides us a chance to learn more about each other and our various interests.

In addition, we volunteer regularly in our community. In recent years, we have volunteered at Special Olympics and the Ronald McDonald House. Every time we volunteer, we are truly impacted by the experience. We meet amazing people, gain a different perspective, and learn something new. As Winston Churchill once said: ”We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.” Highlands is excited to continue its tradition of giving and volunteering – both now and into the future!
