The California State Transportation Agency (CalSTA) has embarked on an ambitious project to transform transit in California. The Transit Transformation Task Force (TTTF) will develop policy recommendations to grow transit ridership, improve the transit experience, and address long-term operational needs. This effort is guided by CalSTA’s “core four” values: safety, equity, climate action, and economic prosperity.
Last December, CalSTA appointed 25 members to the TTTF, including representatives from state government, local agencies, academic institutions, advocacy organizations, and other stakeholders. Highlands Consulting was engaged to collaborate with executives to develop agendas, capture findings, and write the final report. The TTTF has already met five times and has discussed crucial topics such as transit availability, prioritization, safety, and cleanliness.
I’m excited to be part of this visionary effort. If you are interested in learning more, you will find TTTF public meeting agendas and materials here.
