On November 15th, 2021, President Biden signed the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA). This landmark law includes federal policy direction and funding for climate action, zero-emissions vehicle deployment, social equity, and multi-modal transportation investment – all critical initiatives for our State.
In January 2022, the California State Transportation Agency (CalSTA) created 13 Sub-Working Groups and asked Highlands Consulting to facilitate meetings to assist in the planning and implementation of this “once-in-a-generation” legislation. The outcome of these meetings will help determine California’s recommended use of IIJA funds.
As monumental funding is within grasp, transportation stakeholders have an extraordinary opportunity to provide input into the development, planning, and implementation of the IIJA. I’m fortunate to be part of the Highlands team that is helping the Agency with this critical effort!
